Group Leader 2



Summary


Advanced level position assisting in development, training, evaluations, and work schedules of seasonal, probationary and regular full-time employees within the quality area.  Provides support to the shift or department supervisor in achieving daily and monthly goals in safety, quality, accuracy and production.


Incumbents in this role have an advanced ability to coordinate employees in the most efficient and effective way possible.



Responsibilities



  • Resolve day to day issues to meet production, safety, shipping and quality goals.

  • Safety incident/accident reporting, promotion of safety programs and tracking of quality team participation, and be a First Responder.

  • Involved in completion and delivery of seasonal, probationary and RFT evaluations, disciplinary reports, and make recommendations for merit increases/promotions.

  • Oversee administration of the ISO quality management system.

  • Engage with customers, vendors and external parties during audits and as necessary.  Lead customer issue investigations and track actions.

  • Know the regulatory requirements, offer accept/reject decisions based on the requirements and train employees on the requirements.

  • Daily coaching and mentoring of quality team.  Assist in the training, development, and maintenance of training sheets for all employees.

  • Conduct daily shift meetings and delegate daily work assignments.

  • Record daily attendnace of seasonal, probationary and regular full time employees and submit bi-weekly payroll reports

  • Involved in and support transformation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement projects throughout the building to promote safety, quality and productivity.

  • Act on behalf of the supervisor during absence.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Desired Experience



  • Intermediate computer skills €“ MS Word and MS Excel

  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with management and other employees to achieve goals

  • Support and promote Worthington philosophy, standards and policies

  • Advanced communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong listening and organizational skills

  • 2-5 years experience in manufacturing / production environment

  • 1st Aid/CPR Training, Emergency Response Training

  • Completion of WI Leadership Training (Aspiring Leaders, Emerging Leaders, etc.)

  • Familiar with Product Application and Regulatory Standards

  • Quality Management System Databse user training

  • On the job and formal training to enhance safety, productivity, and troubleshooting skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
